Make DataError: the app rejected what the module sent

You see: DataError

What it means

The data a module sent did not pass the app's validation: a value too long, in the wrong format, or missing. A post longer than the platform allows is the classic example.

How to fix it

  1. Open the failed run and the module that errored, and read the input bundle it sent next to the error message.
  2. Fix the mapping: fill the missing field, trim or convert the value (Make's text, date and number functions), or add a filter so records that cannot be sent are skipped.
  3. If some records will always be bad, add a Resume or Ignore error handler so one bad record does not stop the rest.
  4. Run the scenario once with a real record to confirm.

If it keeps coming back

A DataError that appears after months of working usually means the data changed: a new form field, a longer product name, a new date format upstream.
