Zapier 401 Unauthorized: why your Zap lost access and how to fix it
You see: 401 Unauthorized
What it means
The app your Zap talks to no longer accepts the login Zapier holds for it. The connection expired, the password changed, the token was revoked, or the account that connected it lost access.
How to fix it
- Open Zap history, click the errored run and open the step that failed. Its Troubleshoot tab names the app and shows the error.
- Go to the Apps page in Zapier, find that app's connection and reconnect it (sign in again).
- If the sign-in popup fails or closes on its own, try another browser, or a private window with popups allowed.
- Back in the Zap, make sure the step uses the reconnected account, then replay the failed runs from Zap history.
If it keeps coming back
If it comes back every few days, the app is expiring its tokens or someone keeps changing the password. Connect it with an account that does not rotate (a shared service login, where the app allows one).
