Zapier 403 Forbidden: when the Zap is signed in but not allowed

You see: 403 Forbidden

What it means

Zapier is signed in to the app, but that account is not allowed to do what the step asks: create the record, read the folder, post in the channel. It is a permissions problem, not a broken login.

How to fix it

  1. Open the errored run in Zap history and read which step failed and what it tried to do.
  2. Check the connected account's role in that app. Ask the app's administrator for the permission the step needs (for example, write access to that sheet, folder or pipeline).
  3. If the step points at something owned by another person or workspace, share it with the connected account or reconnect with an account that owns it.
  4. Replay the failed runs once access is in place.

If it keeps coming back

A 403 that starts out of nowhere usually follows a change on the app side: a role was downgraded, a shared drive moved, or a plan lost a feature.
