CODEC RETINA GARDENER

A living reaction-diffusion world, watched by 16 tiny video encoders. What the codec cannot predict is what the gardener calls surprise, and it tends each patch toward the edge of chaos.

Click a patch in the world to seed life there. Click a retina card for what the gardener has learned about it. Card shapes: dim means dead, blue outline means flowing (it moves but the codec predicts it), amber cut corners means novel (the gardener's target), red means noise.
