All 106 tools

The same 106 tools onlineconverter.com lists, in its 6 groups. Each one says what Verse does today: on this page, on another Verse page, in part (the note says which part), or not on Verse yet. A tool is never shown as done when it is not.

How it works

Your browser opens the file and Verse writes the new one. Video: the browser plays it once, Verse draws each picture (with the cut, the turn, the text or the picture on top), the browser codes it with its own video encoder (H.264 or VP9) and the sound with its audio encoder, and Verse writes the MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, AVI, FLV or 3GP file itself. A video takes about as long as it takes to play; a heavy edit on a slow device plays slower so that no picture is lost. An AVI holds the H.264 pictures and the sound as 16-bit PCM, which Verse writes itself. An FLV holds the H.264 pictures and AAC sound, or 16-bit PCM at 44.1 kHz where the browser has no AAC encoder. A 3GP holds H.264 and AAC only, so where the browser has no AAC encoder the 3GP has no sound. WMV is not written yet: its row below says why. Sound and pictures: WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, BMP, TIFF, DNG and GIF with Verse's own encoders, M4A with the browser's AAC encoder (or Verse's ALAC where there is none), M4R with the browser's AAC encoder only, OGG and OPUS with the browser's Opus encoder in Verse's own Ogg pages, JPG, PNG and WebP with the browser's, PDF with pdf-lib, and the words of a PDF read with pdf.js. Sounds the browser can play (MP3, M4A, OGG, FLAC, the sound of an MP4) are opened by the browser. Encrypted or protected files cannot be read, here or anywhere.
